Ask 20 people to describe “The Meynell” and you’ll probably get a range of different replies such as “great place to meet socially”, “fantastic food”, “first class private dining venue”, superb venue for weddings (including Civil ceremonies) and parties”, “excellent venue for small business meetings”, “unspoilt 150 year old pub/ restaurant”, “marvellous area for country walks” and “beautiful, picturesque location”.

In addition to our wines from Churchills, we have a range of lagers and cask ales. Marstons' Pedigree and guest ales, normally from local "micro" breweries thriving in the area.

Only three months after re-opening with a new team, The Deer park Restaurant was voted Restaurant of the Year 2003 (Taste of Staffordshire) and also overall "Judge's Choice," this was followed the next year by winning "Pub of the Year 2004". Also awarded an AA Rosette. The Meynell was awarded "Pub of the Year 2005" and achieved third place for "Restaurant of the Year 2005".
